Virtual Career Center Career Coach
The Career Center and Regional Career Services at Indiana Tech is seeking a part-time (25 hours per week), professional Virtual Career Center Career Coach who will provide career advising to students and alumni of Indiana Tech and will establish and be responsible for work within the Virtual Career Center.
The successful candidate will build and develop a virtual career center and create and implement ongoing and regular online career development events including, but not limited to virtual events, virtual site visits, and online communities. The position will work in conjunction with the department of distance education and the Warrior Information Network to assist CPS, online and day students with execution of numerous system-wide career development events, seminars, workshops, and classes with the goal of educating students on the steps of career planning and job search processes.
This position will provide direction and support to train staff, students, and alumni on the use of online resources, develop content for the Virtual Career Center, and provide career coaching to students through a vast array of delivery methods and modalities, virtually and face-to-face. This staff member will work closely with other Career Center staff members to provide continuity and consistency of career programming and advising across all modalities.
This position requires knowledge in career development, internships and job search strategies. Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Products are needed. A familiarity with online teaching, advising, and/or use of online career related resources is desired.
A master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Business or related field preferred; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is required with experience in working with career related issues.
