About the Role


The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer to lead and execute its long-term fundraising program, with a focus on driving growth and bringing the 5-year growth plan to fruition. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of key, high-value donors, strategizing, and executing fundraising programs to meet an annual budget of over $10 million. This role involves building and diversifying the fundraising portfolio, managing efforts across various streams, and leading a team of up to 15 people. The Chief Development Officer will also work closely with the board, providing strategic direction, and be part of the key leadership team for the organization.

Applicants for the Chief Development Officer position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in development roles, with a proven track record of leading and growing teams. The role requires outstanding fundraising experience, including a history of securing 6 and 7-figure gifts, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. An established network within the climate space is essential, as is the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, and possess the skills to communicate effectively in a clear and concise manner.
