Our growing company is seeking a Master Planner and Scheduler to join our Business. This position will report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for all aspects of the machine shop, scheduling orders and managing shop papers throughout the manufacturing process, while maintaining minimal inventory levels. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Developing formal production schedules and updates as required, while working with purchasing to ensure that raw materials are available in sufficient quantities to meet requirements. Data Analysis to support material supply. Follows up on Production schedule and prioritizes job-orders for production optimization. Maintains shortages sheet for manufacturing. Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectations. Interacts with shop floor management on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or additional information as requested from Customer Service and Manufacturing. Communicates with buyers to ensure on-time delivery of materials. Maintain daily productivity/workflow reports. Work closely with internal departments such as Operations, Customer Service, Production Manager, Quality and Engineering as required. Provides accurate sales and late deliveries forecasts (3 months forecast) and report status on a weekly basis. Improves scheduling tools and systems, while working with program managers and customer service to provide timely information and short lead times to our customers. Obtains forecasts from customers for future planning and expedites customer orders as required. Schedules to minimize waste, optimize efficiencies, and utilize capacities. Plans and ensures adequate and timely supply of raw materials. Communicates plans and changes, capacity issues, and inventory issues with manufacturing and related departments. Participates in and/or leads the implementation of lean manufacturing projects. Build quality into work. Ensure processes are consistent with company objectives. Make suggestions for improvements in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality and productivity. Proactive - Must be able to prioritize workload on a daily basis and effectively coordinate with peers activities related to the material planning. Must be able to transition quickly between working independently and as a strong team player. Superior attention to detail and good follow-up and follow through skills. Establish re-order points, safety stock, replenishment quantity control and replenishment cycles. Arrange for internal delivery, assembly or distribution of parts to expedite the flow of materials to meet production schedules. Participate in and help coordinate daily scheduling meetings across all work centers to review upcoming schedule and discuss production optimization ideas. Participates in and/or leads the implementation of lean manufacturing projects. May be asked to perform other duties as required
Requirements: A minimum of 2-3 years experience in related field Computer proficiency, strong interpersonal skill, pleasant, professional demeanor and the ability to work as part of a team Working knowledge of MRP systems (Great Plains is a plus) Proficient with the MS Office products and Excel strong computer skills Firm understanding of the parameters and calculations that drive MRP Supervisory experience a plus ISO 9001:2015 experience a plus Applicants who meet these requirements should send their resume and salary history and/or requirements.
