Position Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will provide patient care under the direct supervision of a physician, including assessing and diagnosing in the Neurology ICU.

Core Competencies:
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and FDA
  • Demonstrated ability to: 1. Treat and provide appropriate care for patients with acute stroke symptoms 2. Triage inpatients in outlying hospitals and report findings to attending physician
  • Knowledge of coding and billing parameters that govern the provision of patient care by Nurse Practitioner within state of Tennessee and as applicable to individual carriers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Committed to supporting UCH's standard of medical excellence

Requirements

Education & Experience:
  • Master's degree in nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner required (must include Certification and prescriptive authority)
  • State of Tennessee licensure is required
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
