Under the administrative direction of the Division President, lead the business development functions and develop and execute strategic plans to win new business and market share, teaming relationships and win strategies for opportunities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide vision and leadership, strategically positioning KPP to gain market share.
Manage the business development, marketing and bid and proposal, the new business capture processes and proposal development activities.
Develop and execute market strategies/plans to pursue and win contracts with U.S. Arms Forces, commercial and international customers. Direct the planning, organization, execution and management of new business opportunities, existing opportunities and pursuing opportunities to close orders and obtaining contract award.
Formulate and execute marketing plans and budgets that are consistent with and supportive of the division’s annual strategic plan. Participate in the strategic planning process by providing input regarding future technology market opportunities and customer needs.
Manage and track revenue goals to develop markets in new industries and geographies.
Develop and present customer briefings that include technical and business solutions based on customer & competitive knowledge. Ensure that professional business relationships exist and grow with customers, third parties and other external contacts. Anticipate and fulfill customer needs to ensure satisfaction, continued business and fulfillment of company contract commitments.
Support and coordinate BD activities in Middle East, North Africa regions with the Executive Director of the Company MENA office.
Plan and direct IR&D/B&P activities based on market intelligence. Ensure all business development opportunities, including the initiation and execution of nondisclosure agreements, teaming agreements, memoranda of understanding/agreement and other similar partnering agreements are properly coordinated and executed.
Thirteen to fifteen years of progressive related experience in business development, program management or related fields.
Experience with multi-million dollar programs of significant size and scope
Extensive background in managing business development/program management function in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace/defense.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required and Master’s Degree, or equivalent, a plus
Experience in selling to US Armed Forces and foreign governments
Must be available to travel, domestic and foreign, as required, and have ability to obtain/maintain U.S. DoD security clearance.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and a high degree of diplomacy.
Duties require critical judgment, effective participation in the formulation and carrying out of company policies, objectives and programs with direct accountability for final results.
Strong presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues, others.
Broad knowledge of DoD requirements, FAR, DFAR, ITAR, FCPA.
Detailed knowledge of program management and related business acumen.
Results oriented winner mentality.
Knowledge and demonstrated track record in identifying and developing international markets.
