A Senior Project Engineer is needed for a leader in power and automation technologies in the Lake Mary, FL area. In this role you will be responsible for designing and executing the protection and control engineering components of projects and ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with company policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, HSE requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments.

responsibilities:

• 
  

  Protection and control engineering design for MV / LV power systems.

  
  


• 
  

  Review and correctly interpret customer specifications and single line diagrams to select adequate protective relays and design / program related automation functions.

  
  


• 
  

  Manages the complete life cycle of protection and control engineering tasks including review of customer engineering documents, preparation of scoping document, implementation of relay logic with engineering tools, configuration of IEC61850 for peer-to-peer communication, development of relay system description and testing procedures.

  
  


• 
  

  Support system testing during Factory Accept Test (FAT) and Site Integration Test (SAT), and troubleshooting.

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate work to execute engineering tasks ensuring timely release of design documents.

  
  


• 
  

  Providing presales support for proof of concept and system architecture review / recommendations.

  
  

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 
  

  Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

  
  


• 
  

  Minimum of 8 years of experience in power systems design regarding protection and control.

  
  


• 
  

  Must possess a strong technical background and knowledge of protection and control systems for LV / MV and HV power systems.

  
  


• 
  

  Must be familiar with power system architectures, troubleshooting tools for protection systems and power systems analysis.

  
  


• 
  

  Proven experience with IEC 61850 based substation automation schemes.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with other protective relay communication protocols including DNP & Modbus is highly desirable.

  
  

Desired Qualifications:

• 
  

  Demonstrated teamwork, quality control, risk analysis and risk mitigation.

  
  


• 
  

  strong understanding on SCADA and automation systems.
