Structural Steel Project Engineer

Gables Search Group Caledonia, WI Full Time

This full time, permanent Structural Steel Project Engineer opportunity is at a stable, casual manufacturer located in a newly built, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. The company has been immune from economic downturns including the Great Recession and COVID. When the economy slows, they typically get even more work from the government. Employees are valued and treated well. Employee opinions are valued and their voices are heard. Management is very accessible to all employees. There is a lot of variety in the job duties so no employee is bored here.

This position is available due to continued company growth. The successful candidate's duties and responsibilities will encompass:

  • Designing structural steel in Solidworks
  • Working with general contractors
  • Performing load calculations
  • Creating submittal drawings
  • Coordinating and managing projects including the submittal drawing process, building approval and detailing phase 
  • Travelling as needed (limited to start but should become approximately once per month in the continental United States)

Candidates will have a minimum background consisting of:

  • A two year degree in Structural Engineering and/or Civil Engineering
  • Two or more years of Solidworks, AutoCAD, or AutoDesk design experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Possess demonstrated experience successfully managing ten or more different projects at various stages
  • Possess the ability to travel approximately once per month in the continental United States
  • Possess a detail-oriented mindset
  • Possess good communication skills
