Job Title: L&C - Corporate Attorney, VP

Job Description:

The Legal & Compliance department seeks an attorney with at least 4 years of experience to support the Blackstone Insurance Solutions business, including its registered investment advisers, new product initiatives and existing clients.

The attorney will work on a variety of legal-related matters involving the Blackstone Insurance Solutions business, while also working in coordination with other Blackstone business unit legal teams. Primary areas of responsibility would include:

* Legal matters related to Blackstone's general account insurance clients, including investment structuring and support, investment management agreement negotiation and monitoring, insurance regulatory filings, and coordination with underlying Blackstone business units that sub-manage insurance client accounts with respect to certain asset classes

* Transactional support, including with respect to regulatory matters, of the investment teams on a broad range of investments, including public and private credit, structured products and private fund investments

* Support relating to M&A activity focused on insurance companies

* Preparing regular reports to the portfolio managers and senior management regarding legal matters

* Working with other members of the legal and compliance team to ensure that Compliance Policies and Procedures and Form ADV Part 2, are current, and to identify and address areas where policies and procedures need to be developed or amended

* Liaising with operations, finance, tax, government relations/public affairs, fund formation and compliance teams on a variety of matters, including client onboarding and monitoring, signing and closing processes, regulatory matters and LP and co-investor matters

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate should have:

* At least 4 years of directly related experience as an attorney in a law firm investment fund or credit group or with a credit-oriented asset manager.

* A substantial knowledge of relevant rules and regulations and the day-to-day affairs of private funds

* An understanding of credit instruments and assets (e.g., public debt securities, loan syndications, CLOs and other asset backed credit securities, direct lending, mortgage loans) is a strong plus

* Knowledge of insurance regulatory issues is not required, but a strong plus

* An undergraduate degree and a law degree are required

* Demonstrated ability to write effectively

* Strong organizational skills

* Strong communication skills

Expected annual base salary range:

$175,000 - $200,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
