Electrical Pre Construction Manager

$110000 - $135000 per annum

Position Key Responsibility Summary:

  • Lead and provide support as appropriate with conceptual and detailed design of commercial/industrial electrical systems
  • Lead procurement efforts and negotiate Purchase Orders for key electrical equipment with support of Preconstruction Director, i.e., Lighting fixtures, electrical equipment, wire/cable etc.
  • Lead the pursuit team to respond to RFP from client
  • Design review of electrical design, calculations, and studies.
  • Independent review of testing, commissioning plan, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Provides support to Business Development team as necessary to maintain relationships with existing client base
  • Conduct site visits and inspection as necessary.
  • Support the project team with design and estimates.
  • Performs quantity take-offs.
  • Assists in the pricing and bidding of commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Communicates with engineers, suppliers, and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements, and documents these clarifications.
  • Conducts reviews of milestone documents for the development and pricing of value alternative opportunities.
  • Actively participates in the internal estimate review process.
  • After the bid, collects and organizes all bid information for future reference.
  • Aids field operations with change order pricing if needed.
  • Prepares contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontracts.
  • Participates in estimate and budgeting activities by soliciting subcontractor support and evaluating bids.
  • Builds relationships with subcontractors to obtain a competitive advantage for Company.
  • Attends industry events and represents Company to the industry in a professional capacity.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal Company clients.

Industry Knowledge / Relationships

  • Builds relationships with subcontractors to obtain a competitive advantage for Company.
  • Attends industry events and represents Company to the industry in a professional capacity.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external Company clients.
  • Keeps current with latest technology and techniques to improve Company competitiveness in the marketplace
  • Demonstrates conceptual estimating skills by interpolating data.
  • Questions designs and assumptions and presents value engineering ideas to manager on the project.

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of electrical construction principles and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.
  • Working knowledge of OST, Accubid, Traser, and BIM related software.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Company core values.
  • Maintains a 'value added' approach to estimating
