Job Description

DuPont Clean Technologies is looking to hire a Plant Accountant that will be an integral part of our team and serve as the financial partner to the plant manager. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical and able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This individual will have strong general accounting, cost accounting and financial analysis skills operating with a high degree of accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business operations to ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial closing including preparation of accounting reports for submission to plant, operations and business management.
  • General accounting areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, plant accounting, payables, calculations and analysis of inventory balances, capital expenditures, plant fixed costs, standard cost variances and detailed product profitability reports.
  • Perform standard cost review on a quarterly basis and work closely with Operations to review changes and impacts.
  • Investigate plant spending, material variances in GL accounts and standard cost variances.                   
  • Prepare detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations for respective GL accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to resolve inventory discrepancies by performing reconciliation with physical counts, vendor shipments, and analyzing Goods-in-Transit.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure capital expenditures are within budget and fixed assets are capitalized appropriately.
  • Review SOX controls and process documents to ensure adherence of internal controls and ensure process integrity with
  • Cost/Inventory and work with team members to resolve process issues and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in the year-end audit including physical inventory observation and reconciliation.
  • Support audits performed by internal and external auditors.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the business operations and business systems teams for process improvements and automation in supply chain and inventory.
  • Drive change in the organization via participation in special projects, ad hoc analyses and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 5 years accounting experience with prior cost accounting experience in a public company environment
  • Good understanding of Supply Chain and Operations and experience working with ERP systems
  • Committed to the success of the organization with experience with leading and implementing process improvements
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in systems skills - Intermediate to advanced MS Excel
