Kforce's client, a premier, publicly traded rapid growth technology company is seeking a Senior Accountant with SEC reporting in New York, NY. This is an opportunity to work for a world class mentor with a quick path to a Manager role. Summary: The Senior Accountant - SEC Reporting will be responsible for assisting in ensuring regulatory compliance with SEC reporting requirements and to ensure adherence to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements and any other newly emerging FASB and regulatory requirements. Major responsibilities of the role include:
  • Managing the preparation of the financial statement footnotes and MD&A for annual report and the preparation of form 10-K and form 10-Qs
  • Assist in gathering information from individual business units to include in the annual and quarterly reports
  • Assist in the implementation of the new accounting standards.
  • Assisting in the valuation and expense recognition of stock-based compensation
  • Providing direct support on various special projects (i.e., analytical review, quarterly accounting updates, etc.)
  • Assisting in the documentation and testing of internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act


  • BS/BA in Accounting
  • CPA (or in the examination/licensing process)
  • 3 to 5 years relevant experience
  • Experience with preparing notes/memoranda explaining changes in balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Must be comfortable working independently
  • Detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
