Field Manager - Commercial Flooring - State College PA State College, PA

Salary: $50,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year

Role: The Field Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of various commercial projects, working in partnership with project teams and sub-contractors throughout the entire job (pre-install through post-install). The Field Manager ensures efficient allocation of materials and resources, enhances business value, ensures process efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction.
Daily Responsibilities include:
- Participate in kick-off meetings to review the job with sales, project managers, and estimating.
- Thoroughly review project plans and specifications, proactively escalate issues.
- Confirm accurate SOVs and Subcontractor acknowledgment at the start of the project.
- Confirm job schedule and material delivery with project teams.
- Work with Foreman to determine specialty products and tools required.
- Organize and direct subcontractor manpower based on job requirements.
- Schedule subcontractor manpower and escalate issues to ensure good communication.
- Manage the installation process, including punch list and project closeout.
- Organize and coordinate deliveries with Project Manager and Foreman.
- Perform site inspections to confirm job conditions meet manufacturers' specifications.
- Review job with subcontractor/installer daily.
- Conduct mandatory briefings with crew chiefs after weekly job site meetings.
- Provide technical assistance by interpreting blueprints and installation instructions.
- Anticipate material, staffing needs, and measure production.
- Visit job sites daily and check-in with GC contacts/onsite foreman.
- Inspect quality of installer work.
- Document job site updates/progress using ProCore Observations.
- Work with PM to approve additional work and initiate field change orders.
- Expedite additional or missing material delivery to job site.
- Provide PM with verified installed quantities.
- Ensure all post-installation requirements are met.
- Attend post-job project meetings/lessons learned.
- Communicate with site superintendent to ensure satisfaction and address issues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required for success:
- Technical knowledge in the installation of ceramic/stone, wood, vinyl, and carpet.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be proactive and foresee events.
- Ability to multi-task and respond to different situations.
- Ability to work within project scope and deadlines.
Education and Experience levels preferred:
- 3-5 years field management experience, including oversight of subcontractors.
- Subject matter expert in flooring products and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret project specifications and blueprints.
