Job Description

The University of Nevada is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 2 for the department of Residential Life, Housing, and Food Services. This position will serve as a primary contact person for the central office and will provide direct administrative support to the department Executive Directors and Associate Directors for Housing Operations and Dining Services. Moreover, the position will serve as a secondary cashier and will be able to receive and process license agreements. The Administrative Assistant 2 duties will also include but not limited to are: obtaining and processing billing information, preparing and balancing documentation and forms; performing data entry, filing, and mailing; assess proper accounts with charges, making payments, receipt payment into PeopleSoft; assist in special projects, including checking enrollment; will be responsible to assist clientele in person and on phone; assisting callers; resolving and investigating customer complaints; scheduling appointments; creating and maintaining calendar's for departmental faculty; arranging internal /external meetings. This position must be familiar with personnel policies and procedures and serve as the departmental resource for personnel matters, maintaining confidentiality. The ideal candidate will oversee the reception and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two (2) years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

This position requires knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants with experience with MS word, PeopleSoft and Blackboard are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and requires flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
