Being a member of the Information Technology business unit the Executive Director, Platform Engineering (Network) is responsible for the implementing and sustaining networking solutions for the DTCC Global Network. Additionally, they will plan and implement applicable training and mentoring to ensure that staff skills remain relevant to modernize DTCC's global network. Candidate must possess understanding in modern application stacks and loosely coupled architectures, strong leadership and collaboration skills and tried expertise in delivering large scale technology implementations.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to formulate compelling vision and strategy and translate that to concrete roadmaps and results. Risk Manager: establishing and/or maintaining a risk balanced culture within network engineering that is passionate about the availability, stability and security of the network.
  • Delivery Manager: establishing and/or maintaining consistent, efficient and effective processes and procedures that ensure predictable delivery of networking solutions.
  • Resource Manager: real time management of existing resources and proactive planning to address challenges such as capacity and end-of-life.
  • People Manager: ensure that staffing and workload levels are appropriately balanced; ensure that networking staff is appropriately trained for their role.
  • Demonstrable critical thinking skills, ability to accurately analyze information and make data-driven decisions
  • Ensure accurate disciplines and controls within the IT environment, as evidenced by strong audits and exams.
  • Serve as a "Change Agent" who brings a sense of urgency and can mobilize resources and implement initiatives on time.
  • Understand how technology works, bring a passion for technology, know the questions to ask, and be able dig into the details.
  • Develop a strong partnership with business line leaders, IT members, and the operations team. Understand the business/process making sure the technology delivery is seamless.
  • Communicate technical issues to a non-tech audience and to be an effective bridge from business to technology.
  • Effectively plan and supervise multiple large and/or sophisticated projects and communicate status to management and project teams. Identify problem areas and alternative solutions.
  • Experience with leading an IT environment, data, applications, and projects at the enterprise level (i.e. experience with balancing the different factors and competing demands of a multi-faceted, sophisticated IT environment).
  • Shown ability to lead and maintain a very strong control environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of applying technology to solve business problems.
  • Combination of excellent leadership/management, technology, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Sound Like You?
  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Additional Qualifications
  • Progressive levels of management and leadership with a minimum of 10 years as a global people leader
  • Understanding and /or working Knowledge of VBlock, Nutanix, CaaS, IaaS, network as service, storage solutions and mainframe.
  • Experience in modernization of legacy environments
  • Experience with cloud technology value proposition, principles, and services including infrastructure, business applications, data management, security, and application platforms
  • Experience with the planning, design and the implementation of platform enhancements and new capabilities both on Mainframe and Open Systems. Experience with running an IT environment, data, applications, and projects at the enterprise level (i.e., experience with balancing the different factors and challenging demands of a multi-faceted, sophisticated IT environment)
  • Shown experience in developing and delivering progressive strategies. Experience building and delivering solutions with premier security and reliability, and resiliency
  • Experience in influencing senior leadership, business and technical collaborators, and peer groups, while driving enterprise-scale portfolios or programs in large organizations
  • Experience leading engineering and IT organizations that are distributed and remote.
  • Experience building excellent processes and workflows that adapt to scale
  • Prior Financial Services experience is highly preferred. Alternatively, must have prior experience for working in a regulated environment and managing / partnering with industry regulators
  • Combination of excellent leadership/management, technology, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
