Central Garden & Pet Hamilton Township Full-Time

Our Pet Segment is searching for a Warehouse Associate in our Hamilton, NJ location.  This position is responsible for picking, packing and consolidating orders. We are proud to have a new facility and be able to offer employee discounts on pet products. We also offer day and evening shift hours with minimal need for overtime work. Employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits effective the first month after just 30 days and a 401(k) plan with a matching contribution after just 90 days of employment. MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • The order puller processes transactions utilizing RF technology and/or by identifying items on a paper pick ticket according to bin location, part number, and/or description, or other method used within facility.

  • Operate powered and manual material handling equipment in order to pick orders.

  • Assure that the highest standards are maintained for safety, housekeeping, and compliance with all government and company standards.

  • Lead continuous improvement projects as assigned by manager.

  • Handle additional tasks necessary to fulfill the needs of the company and the customer as deemed by operations manager.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

  • Previous experience in warehousing / distribution desired; specifically, to pulling, packing, and consolidating orders is a plus.

  • Basic ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, using the English language.

  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction, and multiplication).

  • Ability to operate a stand-up and/or sit-down fork trucks and electric pallet jacks.

  • Ability to push, pull, grasp, and fine manipulation of equipment using hands is ongoing throughout the work hours.

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Exhibited good job performance and behavior as measured through indicators such as teamwork, attendance, quality, and productivity.

  • Must have dependable transportation.

  • Candidate must pass a drug screen and background check.

  • Work in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is conducted primarily in a warehouse environment with adequate lighting levels.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly.

  • Requires individual to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule. (start early and or stay until work is complete).
