Position Summary

As a leader in the Commercial Operations team of the MaterialHandling Vertical of Rexnord, the Engineered-To-Order Design Supervisor willprovide leadership and focus to the designers for modified and custom geardrives.

  • Lead, energize, and motivate the design / drafting teams in threelocations to perform at the highest level for OTD, lead time, and quality.
  • Manage responseto requests for quote from customers for Rexnord’s contract machining business.
  • Responsiblefor direct report supervision, as well as providing input to performanceevaluations.
  • Communicatewith cross functional groups within the organization to ensure that drawings,materials, BOMs, and contract machining quotes meet customer and organizationalexpectations.
  • Investigate,problem solve, respond, and take action to customer needs and shoprequirements.
  • Practiceand ensure compliance with all of the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Createand maintain standard operating procedures for ETO design / drafting, includingpractices regarding Design for Manufacturability.
  • Workwith off-site design teams to cover work within OTD, lead time, and qualityexpectations.  This includes the creationof playbooks and training for off-site teams.
  • Conductand assist with department continuous improvement efforts using RBS tools,Kaizens, and problem solving skills to improve performance and respond toemerging issues.
  • Participatein the planning and evaluation of root cause issues to increase continuousimprovement, determine and identify trends to make appropriate recommendationsto management.
  • Otherduties as required, including acting as a backup to Director of ApplicationsEngineering.

Experience and Skill Required
  • An Associate's Degree is the minimum education requirement.
  • 2 years of experience in technical customer service or mechanicalengineering is required.
  • Requiressufficient technical and mechanical aptitude to learn the products, and tocommunicate with engineers, planners, and assembly floor associates.
  • Abilityto read and understand engineered drawings.
  • Abilityto manage business processes across remote work sites.
  • Musthave a strong customer focus and great interpersonal skills.
  • Must bedetail oriented and perform work with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • DesirableExperience:
    • Previousexperience with MRP systems such as SAP in material creation, BOM construction,and order entry.
    • Previousexperience in a metrics-driven environment.
    • Anyprior exposure to or experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvementin general is also beneficial.
