This key management position exists at the bank to lead, guide and motivate the staff of employees responsible for the Funding of the mortgage loan production. Knowledge of the funding of three channels of lending will be required. Mortgage fulfilment operations include Wholesale, Retail, and Correspondent lending business functions. This position is critical to the mission of the bank’s Mortgage Fulfillment Operation with a total planned production level for the year 2015 averaging 9000 monthly units. The position requires in depth knowledge and experience associated with the compliance requirements relative to Reg X, Z, B, Mortgage Disclosure Information Act, Loan Officer Comp, Home Ownership Equity Protection Act, Qualified Mortgage, Ability to Repay, and all Investor funding requirements. The knowledge, expertise and experience level that is required is critical to the overall quality of this mortgage operations area. This position has a very strong production component with an emphasis on customer service quality that is required to guarantee success. The ability to work well under pressure within limited timeframes to meet Service Level expectations is required. The individual must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Qualified candidates must have effective customer service skills which will be necessary to develop staff and implement new processes effectively. . Proficient performance provides a strong quality rating required by regulators and investors, which supports a successful business relationship with the bank’s sales partners. Position requires a talent to analyze, recognize, and mitigate areas of risk to the bank. The ability to apply and achieve successfully key business planning components while motivating staff through a challenging environment is required.
Management of production levels, and development of staff regarding the closing and disclosure functions.
Work with sales partners to increase wholesale volume of units to 100%; develop and train HL Advocates on Retail Closing functions.
Investigate and resolve loan issues while dealing with others internal and external.
Develop, train, and document for staff compliance and functional process information.
Create, develop, and prepare reports required to manage the area using excel, word, crystal, adobe, PowerPoint, etc.
Project related responsibilities including but not limited to testing, development working with IT.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar’s internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
High School Diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent required.
Applicant must have a strong working knowledge of all CFPB regulations and applicable rules as they relate to the closing transaction from the creditors perspective. This knowledge needs to include retail and wholesale perspectives.
Applicants must possess knowledge of the title components regarding vesting and recording.
This position will be responsible for the production and delivery of the loan disclosures on the retail and wholesale channels of business. Therefore a solid working knowledge of the requirements regarding the contents as well as the delivery of the disclosures is required.
5 years of Management of a processing, underwriting, or closing department with proven results regarding production service levels.
Strong computer skills relative to reporting and preparation of spreadsheets is required.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including knowledge of pivot tables, macros, and formulas etc. is important.
Knowledge of the mortgage processing function will be helpful.
Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
Applicant must possess the ability to perceive issues, solve problems, and understand how this area fits into the overall mission of the bank.
The ability to work in a production environment with a passion and drive to deliver excellent customer service is a key component. .
