Position Summary

Posting Note: : This Medical Assistant will have some front-office job duties but with a major focus on performing back-office responsibilities. Rooming patients, charting, conducting intake meetings, and flu shot administration. Schedule: M-F 8:30 - 5:00 Location: 1919 East Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016 Requirements: CMA or RMA certification, in addition to your MA diploma. If you have 5 or more years of medical experience and no certification please submit your resume for review.

This position works under the direction of a licensed health care professional and performs various clinical and administrative tasks for the assigned area.

Position Duties

  1. As directed by a physician, performs or assists with procedures such as electrocardiogram, pulmonary function, suture and staple removal, dressing changes, and others.
  2. Collects laboratory specimens (including blood specimens), performs point of care testing, and disposes of bio-hazardous materials.
  3. Demonstrates infection control standards related to hand washing and standard precautions.
  4. Prepares and administers medications, communicates telephone prescriptions to pharmacies, and processes medication refills as directed by a physician.
  5. Prepares and instructs patients about examinations, diagnostic tests, medications, special diets, and health maintenance.
  6. Records and communicates patient related information, including vital signs, growth parameters, medical histories, signs, and symptoms, to the physician or licensed health care provider.
  7. Removes sutures and changes dressings.
  8. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
