IMMUNO-ONCOLOGY DISCOVERY RESEARCH INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Design and execute experiments to interrogate target biology in immune cells using a variety of approaches, including CRISPR/CAS9 mediated gene editing in primary immune cells
  • Execute scientific research utilizing ex vivo/in vitro assays to evaluate the function of immune and tumor cell populations and their interactions

  • Generate scientific key data for target biology

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biological Sciences, Cancer Biology or related fields
  • Must be enrolled in university during the internship period

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exposure to scientific research

  • Experiences in immune assays including ELISA, FACS and Western Blot

  • Primary immune cell isolation
  • Mammalian cell culture experience
