The Role : Biofeedstock and Biofuel: Associate Director Consultant - USA
The Location: Washington DC, Memphis TN and Houston TX
The Team: You will be part of the North American agribusiness consulting team that covers both the commercial and public sectors . This diverse team works collaboratively within North America but is also connected to agribusiness teams around the world and also works closely with other S&P Global teams in areas such as energy, macroeconomics, maritime and mobility.
The Impact: Working in the biofuels, bio-energy and biofuels feedstocks area you will be at the forefront of our decarbonization and energy transition research and analysis, helping clients develop new sources of clean energy supplies and supporting our company-wide effort to develop new intellectual property in this area. This is a rapidly evolving and dynamic sector and the work connected with this position will both help secure new sources of energy while at the same time deliver lower carbon intensity solutions for the economy.

- Work with key industry thought leaders and researchers in the energy transition area,
- Be exposed to North American and global companies and institutions in the energy transition area,
- Be part of and work with a diverse team of researchers and consultants in North America and around the world.
You will be a key member of the IHS Markit global Agribusiness Consulting team. You will play a significant role in all areas of our agribusiness consulting as well as having the opportunity to work and develop specific areas of interest.
Key responsibilities include:
- Apply your specific knowledge base to client projects
- Work as part of a team of consultants on very large, highly complex projects; on smaller projects, work independently to execute and deliver the work
- Work collaboratively across geographies within agribusiness consulting as well as other consulting groups within IHS Markit
- Be flexible in working on projects in other areas of agribusiness
From a research and/or consulting capacity you will also have:
- Substantial agribusiness and bioenergy experience. Traditionally acquired by working for industry, consulting, technology firms and/or government
- Post-graduate degree (likely to be in agriculture, energy, business or economics)
- Highly organized and creative skills, with accomplished time and project management
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills; English language required
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and to navigate and excel in a complex, matrix organization
- Ability to work within and on occasion lead and manage team
- Solid leadership skills and the ability to work independently without day to day direct authority
