Support development of the procurement function at Ameritas and manage multiple categories. At Ameritas, our mission is Fulfilling Life. Partner with VP of procurement to design and implement standardized activities across the enterprise, while building a unified and transformed category management function focused on accountability, results, and building value. This role will play an important role in building this function for Ameritas, which will contribute significant future value. This position will be responsible for managing one or more spend categories for Ameritas. Establish category management including spend rationalization and supplier segmentation discipline. An ability to work with senior level stakeholders in a collaborative manner to influence will be key to success. What you do * Focus on groups or areas with high dollar spend with impact across the enterprise. * Leverage suppliers and manage suppliers. Develop supplier relationships to allow for deeper program development and enablement of negotiation. * Build relationships with key internal budget owners to partner with them in identifying opportunities for consolidation of spend for efficiency. * Act as a trusted partner to the business by providing knowledgeable and transformational category management and procurement expertise. * Help to ensure Ameritas maximizes quality and value of their spend by eliminating waste, measuring vendor quality, and ensuring adherence to established service levels and agreements. What you bring * 4-7 years previous experience in the field of category management or procurement management required * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required * Expertise in multiple spending categories will be needed. Previous experience with category management in any combination of the areas of IT (hardware, software, peripherals), marketing, professional consulting, or operations (including travel, facilities, etc.) desired. * Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification from Institute of Supply Management is desired.
