Responsible for reviewing and approving all hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste streams and lab pack inventories for treatment, storage or recycling at Veolia Henderson in accordance with site capabilities, approved permits, and appropriate regulatory requirements. Responsible for assisting Mountain Branch Customers, Customer Service, and Field Service’s project personnel in completing approvals for Henderson on customer wastes. Responsible for creating and maintaining all Veolia and Third Party outbound approvals necessary for Henderson to ship wastes for disposal. Responsible for negotiating disposal and transportation pricing with Veolia and third party TSDF’s and non-hazardous processing facilities. Responsible for determining acceptability or rejection of chemical components of waste materials utilizing a variety of analytical, MSDS’s, and facility information to expedite waste management in a timely manner to the satisfaction of the customer and facility personnel. Conduct special waste audits of other facilities. Ensures that approval process is in proper compliance with company policies and procedures.
•B.S. in Chemistry, Environmental Science or related field required
•Minimum of 2 years chemical industry or regulatory experience required
•CHMM Certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
•Working knowledge of hazardous waste treatment, regulations and disposal
•Working knowledge of State and Federal regulations regarding hazardous waste management (i.e. RCRA, TSCA, DOT, and LDR regulations)
•Computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite
•Strong team player
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
