Job Description

Are you an experienced Certified Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse looking for a new opportunity with a prestigious healthcare company? Certified Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse Responsibilities:

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

  1. Uses customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients calmly and pleasantly;
  2. Performs pre-visit planning on scheduled patient;
  3. Collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis, as needed;
  4. Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned that include checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, undressing and dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.; collecting patient history; performing screenings per provider guidelines; assisting physicians/nurses with various procedures; charting; relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls, and providing pertinent information;
  5. Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned that may include sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms/requisitions as needed; scheduling appointments; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics; managing and updating electronic medical record to ensure that information is complete;
  6. Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned that may include setting up instruments and equipment according to protocols; cleaning visit/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms;
  7. Fulfills organizational responsibilities as assigned including respecting/promoting patient rights; responding appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisor;
  8. Provides basic patient care as ordered. Obtains vital signs, administers medications and treatments as directed. Assists other healthcare professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures and treatments, and minor medical procedures. Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies;
  9. Fulfills clinical medical assisting responsibilities, which may include medical/surgical asepsis, sterilization, instrument wrapping and autoclaving; checking vital signs or instruments; physical examination preparations; clinical pharmacology; drug administration through various routes including injections; prescription verifications with physician's orders; minor surgery assists including surgical tray set-up pre/post surgical care, applying dressings, and suture removal; biohazard waste disposal and monitoring; therapeutic modalities; instructing patients with home care; laboratory procedures including Occupationa1 Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines; quality control methods; CLIA-waived testing; capillary punctures and venipunctures; specimen handling such as urine, throat, vaginal, stool, and sputum; electrocardiography emergency triage) and first aid;
  10. Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions;
  11. Communicates with other team members in clinical and clerical area to provide a successful patient centered practice;
  12. Other duties as assigned

LPN

  12. Reviews labs and other testing results for Provider based on protocols
  13. Performs Nursing assessments and documents including interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, and test results;
  14. Other duties as assigned

 

Certified Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of MA or LPN exp. – if they have pain management, neuro, or ortho exp, we can consider a little less
  • MA – Must be Registered or Certified, please upload verification with submission!
  • LPN – Must have current CPR/BLS or ACLS Certification, please upload with submission!
  • Knowledge of EMR systems
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Experience with taking vitals
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and able to be patient centered

Shift:  Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm

Certified Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse Opportunity:

  • Competitive salary, (CMA: $14-18/hr., LPN: $17-22/hr.)
