Provide management direction and functional leadership for total supply chain planning and purchasing

activity for designated portfolio of Patient Monitoring Business Unit product families, including the

development of the overall supply chain strategy for designated portfolio/products.  Responsible for the

management of activities including device Sales and Operational Planning, supplier relationship

management, material planning and procurement, inventory control/management, technical cost change

(TCC funnel) for Product COGS improvement and implementation of best practice supply chain

management processes including Lean. 

1 Manage execution of the device Sales & Operations Planning process as well as the day to day supply/demand management, material planning/purchasing, and inventory management using the SAP ERP platform.  Responsible for management of strategic relationships with Operations and key external partners in support of the development, deployment and execution of supply chain strategic initiatives.

2 Responsible for the ongoing effectiveness of the device related Sales & Operations Planning function.  Ensure that all factors that have an impact on demand are considered in the development of the plan including, market delivery time requirements, predicted run rates based on historical usage, projected business growth, customer orders, potential customer order opportunities in the sales funnel, product promotions, new product introduction, product lifecycles, service demands, etc.   

3 Collaborate with leadership to establish departmental and employee goals, objectives and key supply chain performance indicators (KPIs).  Provide day to day direction and development of direct reports to perform functions and tasks necessary to achieve goals and realize continuous improvement.  Manage employee performance appraisal process and recommend salary actions.  Responsible for the development, monitoring and performance of cost center and project budgets, talent acquisition, and development/retention of talent through mentoring and coaching.

4 Through close management of Buyer/Planners, responsible for achieving targeted inventory objectives in terms of inventory value and inventory cycle turns.  Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize performance using state of the art supply chain logistic models, optimizing planning master data parameters, ongoing team review and evaluation of excess and obsolete inventory, planning of new product phase-ins and phase-outs and regular review of cycle turn performance, identification of opportunities for improvement and implementation of corrective measures.  

5 Oversee the purchasing related Change Management process.  Lead Purchasing team to ensure Purchasing activities are represented within cross functional teams, participating on change boards and act as interface to supplier.  

6 Participate, as a key stakeholder, in the development and implementation of best practice supply chain management processes including Lean.  Monitor, update and assure purchasing functions are performed in compliance with Company policies, procedures and governmental requirements (e.g. GMP, FDA, OSHA, NIOSH etc.).

7 Responsible for driving continuous improvement, optimization, flexibility, excellence and transparency through the implementation and maintenance of lean tools including supplier logistic models (e.g. VMI, Kanban, etc.) and other best practice supply chain methods in order to deliver maximum customer value and optimizing inventory performance. Responsible for purchasing performance and in meeting supplier key performance measurements including cost, quality, logistics and purchase price variance.  Establishe and oversee strong relationships with suppliers.

8 Responsible for the Technical Cost Change (TCC) funnel for Product Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) improvement, including the initiation and coordination of measures and implementation of bundling activities.

9 Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Education:

BA/BS in related field or the equivalent in education, training and experience.

Related Experience:

* 8+ years of Supply Chain experience including 2-4 years of leadership/management experience

* Proven track record in the implementation of best practice Supply Chain concepts and processes in a global operations environment including managing global, multi-site projects and initiatives

* Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement, LEAN, Six Sigma with demonstrated success in related deployment projects

Special Competencies or Certifications:

* Strong technical skills and commensurate leadership experience in Supply Chain and manufacturing disciplines; familiarity with related concepts, good practices, and procedures

* Proficient in Microsoft Office suit applications, SAP (ERP) systems

* Ability to effectively communicate and present information to executive management; excellent problem-solving, interpersonal and administrative skills

* APICS, LEAN or Six Sigma certification preferred
