Senior Software Engineer with Security Clearance

Doing what is right for the Warfighter is reflected in everything we do. We have an opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to support a mission-critical program at NAWCTSD in Orlando, FL. As the Senior Software Engineer, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to): * Facilitate the Distributed Mission Training (DMT) for a variety of military aircraft platforms (e.g., F-18, F-35, E-2D, H-60).
* Monitor each platform's progress via daily communications, TIMs, and testing events and facilitate the connection of each platform into their DMT environment.
* Support and evaluate customer/operational need to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional requirements.
* Participate as technical lead in the modification, development or testing of training systems computer systems, or sub-systems, and participate in the acquisition of training systems by preparing technically correct and unambiguous contractual language and by evaluating contractor performance.
* Maintain current and expert knowledge of computer system architecture, including networks, digital logic, memory systems and storage media, data bus systems, microprocessor based systems, and software engineering environments
* Maintain current and expert knowledge of computer programming and software systems including operating systems compilers and applications programs for real time and non-realtime processing functions.
* Support users of delivered software systems, including identifying and resolving application, database, network, user documentation, technical documentation, and/or user operation troubles, utilizing both government and contractor personnel and resources
* Act as team leader or team member for assigned tasks to modify, upgrade or correct networks, and computer hardware and software portions of training or training related systems.
* Maintains current knowledge in Cyber Security policies and procedures Requirements Education, Skills, and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Mathematician, or equivalent
* Ten (10) years of practical experience in systems engineering associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains.
* Five (5) years of acquisition experience, with three (3) years in a DoD program directly supporting Training and/or Training Systems Acquisition.
* Five (5) years of experience with support engineering functions such as reliability, maintainability, EMI, logistics, program funding, statistics, facilities, cost estimating, and risk analysis/assessment.
* Five (5) years of experience with a wide range of non-engineering, non-scientific information in the form of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, Department of the Navy (DON)/DoD/NAVAIR policies, directives, and instructions.
* Requires the ability to travel at least 25% of the time, but could be more in the future
* Effective and professional communication skills are required, along with the ability to build and sustain relationships with team members and the government customer
* Familiarity with Linux-based systems
* Ability to write specifications, work statements, memoranda, letters, reports, and other written discussions.
* Experience with training systems interoperability.Security Clearance Requirements: * This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance.
