Assistant Director of Nursing/Director of Nursing in Training

Kendal at Hanover is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). The ADON functions as a member of the nurse management team under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. Major responsibilities include management of Kendal's Assisted Living Neighborhoods and assuming the role of the Director of Nursing in his/her absence.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Assisting the DON in planning and implementing the total program of nursing services.
  • Assuming responsibility for being on call as deemed necessary by the DON.
  • Partnering with department directors and organizational leaders to provide instructional design and the development and delivery of educational curriculum and training.
  • Developing new, and reviewing, current education and training, and revamping educational courses to cater to different learning styles.
  • Developing and overseeing the orientation process for all of the Health Services staff.
  • Developing and managing the staff preceptor/mentor program for new hires in the Health Services department.
  • Participating in and/or chairing committees including: nursing staff meetings, Quality Improvement and Resident Health, and others as needed.
  • Completing comprehensive assessments of residents as needed to monitor health status, acute changes, and appropriate care interventions as needed.

The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of five years of relevant experience and holds licensure in the state of New Hampshire, with knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility/Assisted Living federal and state regulations pertaining to the provision of Long Term Care. The ADON role requires excellent communication, team building skills, a strong understanding of technology, and time management skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $65,450.00 - $100,000.00 per year
