US Regulatory Analyst
The Regulatory Analyst is a subject matter expert responsible for providing timely and accurate advice to a growing and diverse client base. A strong sense of ownership and pride over principal duties is required. This role continually provides opportunities to work independently and collaboratively to achieve entire perspective results.

Key Qualifications
- High School Diploma required. College and or University Degree in Business Administration is an asset.
- US Customs Brokers License is required.
- NCBFAA Certified Customs Specialist is an asset.
- Minimum five (5) years’ Customs Brokerage experience in a consulting, regulatory or similar professional services capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of CBP and PGA import requirements is required.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products – command of Outlook, Word and Excel is required.
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written is required.
- Problem solving, accuracy, attention to detail and analytical ability is required.
Description of Role
- Prioritize and respond to incoming client inquiries of a regulatory or technical nature. Willson International operates within land, air and ocean environments. Requests often require urgent or same day turnaround.
- Advise on the classification, valuation and import requirements of merchandise. Complete and accurate tariff opinions including duty rate and AD/CVD scope checks are routine. Research and advise on FDA, Agriculture or other PGA import requirements.
- Vet documents to ensure compliance with CBP and all other regulatory agencies. Some examples include Powers of Attorney, USMCA Certification of Origin and other routine import documents.
- Post entry work may be required. Examples include USMCA claims, Post Summary Corrections and administrative refunds as required.
- Application or maintenance of Continuous Surety Bonds.
- Stay current with upcoming regulatory changes impacting the Willson International client base.
Decision Making Responsibilities
Work is of a specialized nature which is often analytical and involved.
- Judgment is required to analyze broad problems and develop solutions; sometimes methods and policies may be evolving or not established.
- Data or sample documentation often requires initiative and ingenuity to efficiently create, maintain or amend databases.
- Identify potential compliance concerns and escalate as necessary to mitigate potential liability to Willson International and its client base.
Contacts - Internal and External
Contacts are of considerable importance, however, may often be routine in nature.
Inside contacts may involve working with other departments including sales, service or brokerage operations. Exceptional interpersonal skills are required to build and maintain relationships between departments.
Outside contacts are of considerable importance and may include direct contact with prospects and new or strategic accounts. A successful Regulatory Analyst will create positive client interactions, provide exemplary service and continually cultivate client relationships.
