Job Description

Immediate openeing for a Full Time Insurance/Authorization Specialist .
In this position as the Insurance/Authorization Specialist  you will be responsible for obtaining homecare authorizations from  multiple insurances. Must have knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and multiple commercial insurance processes.
Job Responsibilities:

  • phone calls to insurance companies to obtain authorization

  • familiar with insurance portals to obtain authorization

  • Entering authorization into computer and coordinating service types by applying the authorization into the necessary disciplines

  • Maintaining file for follow-up on requested authorization

  • Uploading authorization information in the patient’s electronic chart.  Documents all authorization activity in the medical system

  • Other duties as necessary.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  •  2+ years recent medical authorizations experience

  • strong verbal and written communication skills

  • familiarity with Microsoft applications including, but not limited to Word and Excel

  • general knowledge of Internet navigation

  • insurance portals and research

  • e-mail, fax transmission and copy equipment.
