Manage and coordinate the daily operations of procurement and accounts payable for IU Athletics by maintaining an efficient, productive, and valued procurement and accounts payable set of processes. Audit internal controls and develop procedures to ensure IU Athletics is in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IU policies and procedures for procurement, accounts payable and inventory. Serves as the resource person for IU Athletics management and staff to disseminate information, interpret policies and procedures, and explain the use of IU financial systems. Serves as the resource person to various IU departments, customers and vendors regarding IU Athletics financial activities. Processes a high volume of requisitions and purchase orders procuring all athletics goods and services. Determines appropriate methods of payment using KFS purchasing, procurement card, and disbursement vouchers, and makes decisions regarding proper account and object code usage. Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, two years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or business administration, and one year of technical expertise in automated accounting systems.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact and communicate with a wide variety of individuals. Demonstrated analytical, administrative, and problem solving skills. Strong organizational and multitasking skills including ability to establish work priorities while managing a broad range of highly sensitive business related activities. Ability to analyze and interpret financial and accounting reports as well as interpret GAAP rules and guidelines. Ability to provide leadership in a complex business environment with broad constituency. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of sensitivity to confidential matters. Proven computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience with Indiana University purchasing policies, procedures, and purchasing systems (KFS, Chrome River, TIME, and IUIE).
