What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure: This position is responsible for all project management, engineering, and specialist (installation/start-up) duties on assigned projects. As needed this position may be assigned as part of a larger project team with selected duties at the direction of the project manager. Design components of the position include all aspects of electrical power distribution systems using company tools and industry protocols. This position requires work to be completed in both office and field locations. Responsibilities Executes projects from inception to close. Performs all duties as PM, Engineer and Specialist. Adheres to all Siemens project management standards according to project category. Performs start-up, commissioning and maintenance tasks on Siemen’s controllers and equipment as needed. Experienced at electrical testing, including but not limited to primary current injection testing, resistance testing, dielectric testing, and thermal scans on medium and low voltage electrical systems required. Experienced at utilizing electrical test sets to perform AC and DC High Potential testing, Transformer Turns Ratio testing, Transformer Power Factor testing and other power system tests practices and procedures. Familiar with Siemens GIS, AIS, WL, RL and SB breakers and switchgear required. Field installs and troubleshoots all aspects of electrical power system. Oversees electrical installations of engineering designs. Coordinates all aspects of projects with all stakeholders. Fully responsible financially for project outcomes. Independently configures electrical power systems for standard and/or critical environment facilities such as data centers or laboratories. Validates designs of electrical power systems for large and/or complex buildings consisting of distribution system layouts, electrical drawings, bill of materials, sequence of operations, switching and relaying schedules, panel layouts to meet the intent of the project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Prepares required engineering packages (drawings, schedules, databases, programs, etc.) and schedules subsequent hand-off to field operations team. Analyzes plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements and risks. Handles the ordering of all required products and equipment. Acts as a technical resource to team and customer as needed. Provides start-up and checkout documentation to the Project Manager and Electrical Specialist for use in commissioning and validation. Participates in sales to operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout. Performs engineering estimates and deviations from plan when necessary. Participates in job site walk through with contractors and/or building management. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Associates degree or vocational technical training required. 5-8 Years of electrical power distribution construction, installation, testing and maintenance experience. Ability to obtain NICET Level III Electrical certification within first year of hire required. Knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations required. Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office Software required. Good verbal and written communication skills. This position may require local and national travel to sites and for training. NETA or NICET Electrical Testing Level 3 or higher certification preferred Proficiency in programming, job start-up, checkout, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in leading, coordinating or managing electrical construction and commissioning projects Experience estimating and selling complex technical solutions Knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, PMCT, Power DB and AutoCAD. Knowledge of Transformers, Circuit Breakers, Switchgear, and other electrical equipment. Knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical power distribution systems. Knowledge of networking protocols both industrial and commercial. Knowledge or programming techniques in an industrial setting.
