Quality Inspector - Direct Hire

New Berlin, WI

12 hour Night Shift $12-$14/hour+ shift premium

This position serves as a key production quality team member to perform in process inspections, measurements, audit auxiliary equipment and test to meet or exceed customer specs. Complete all required documentation, work safety, participate in and support continuous improvement projects such as 6S. Record defects, and scrap per process requirements, actively work to minimize quality returns, holds, and material loss. Work with team members to prevent contamination, create corrective actions, identify and notify leadership of nonconforming product placing it on hold. Follow up on any rework, assist in qualifying new bottles, be able to operate weight scales, leak detectors, etc. Identify root cause analysis and process control implementation, and perform other miscellaneous support duties to enable the team to be successful.

Requires: H.S. diploma or equivalent plus at lease 1 year of experience in a manufacturing company, and a preference with plastics industry background. Able to interpret spec sheets, use quality tools (calipers), and demonstrates strong math, measurement, attention to detail, time management, decision making skills, work independently and also in a team dynamic. Prior experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement is desirable, operate sensitive technical equipment, and read and write in English to identify packing information, follow work instructions and QA alerts.

Physical Requirements: stand and walk for long periods, lift or carry parts, material, product of up to 30 pounds. Grasp, pinch, reach, finger, pick, working with fingers, hands, and arms regularly. Wear eye and hearing protection and work in temps ranging from 60 to 110 degrees. Climb steps, exhibit strong balance, have good hand/eye coordination, stoop, and bend. Strong visual acuity for detecting defects, depth, colors, variances and view objects as real.
