Position Description
Contributes to the university's mission through teaching in an area of expertise, mentoring students in professional and career preparation and serving as liaison with professional contacts and entities on behalf of the department or program.
Major/Essential Functions
Whitacre College of Engineering invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Practice position in Bioengineering. The expected starting date is June 1, 2023. Applicant must have a Ph.D. in Bioengineering or a related field. Candidates with a Ph.D. in an engineering discipline with research experience in bioengineering are also encouraged to apply. Successful candidates are expected to teach graduate level courses in the areas of engineering mathematics and bioengineering and provide training to graduate students in the skills of problem identification, literature search, critical and creative thinking, technical writing, and oral presentation. Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable. We encourage and foster team spirit and cooperation within multiple departments as well as across colleges.
Required Qualifications
Normally, a master’s degree in the discipline or the substantiated equivalent in professional experience of ten (10) years or more.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Bioengineering or related field
