M3D Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician - Level IV
M3D BMET IV
We are seeking an advanced BMET IV to work on-site at Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD. This is a US government contract role with full benefits.
Summary:
Our SMEs working in the M3D were once general BMETs and managers and thus understand how and whom the M3D supports. They are highly experienced and specialized, with comprehensive knowledge of policies, practices, and procedures, which allows them to support the Chief of M3D in the capacity of Enterprise Level technical support and strategic planning services SMEs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Research for maintenance issues and projects, and provide reports, briefings, white papers, and articles.
- Research all available information and data relative to assigned projects and maintenance-centric issues resulting from maintenance operations, business practices, and regulatory requirements. Provide reports, briefings, white papers, and articles for topics.
- Possess attention to detail on reporting.
- Conduct maintenance research and analysis for assigned issues and projects and provide relevant recommendations.
- Assist the M3D Chief when supporting the command maintenance discipline program and maintenance assistance and instruction team.
- Research relevant information sources including publications and databases, perform analysis of the information and construct recommendations, briefings, white papers, and articles.
- Develop and lead medical maintenance projects to research, analyze, and provide professional, relevant, logical, and timely medical maintenance operations and maintenance management process recommendations to the chief M3D.
- Support the medical maintenance community by tracking MMQC compliance at all owning units.
- Utilize application resources and tracking techniques to ensure compliance with alerts and recalls and report relevant information on a continuous basis.
- Maintain visibility of repair for sustainment capabilities.
- Maintaining an understanding of the capability of the Combat Support Hospital (CSH), Medical Logistics Company (MLC), maintainer in the Brigade Combat Team (BCT), and other Army units with medical maintenance capability, of medical devices.
- Develop and integrate policies, programs, and procedures that support sustained Army medical equipment maintenance.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Data entry and computer software experience Professional experience in dealing with clients and/or customer service.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances in compliance with government regulations and requirements.
- Familiar with the biomedical maintenance field and its concepts, practices, and procedures Familiar with U.S. Army acronyms.
- Familiarity with DoD CMMS (GCSS-A), managing support strategies for NGB and analyzing maintenance data.
- Experience performing biomedical equipment maintenance and repair on Army Medical Equipment Experience performing maintenance cycles on Medical Equipment Sets that have returned from deployments and/or have been in long-term storage facilities.
- Experience performing technical inspections of new, used or reconditioned Army medical equipment.
- Experience with medical equipment overhaul.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and/or the equivalent combination of training, experience, and education. This can include A.A.S. in Medical Equipment Technology and/or graduate of DoD Medical Equipment Repairers Course, an advanced degree in area of specialty, more than eight years of directly related experience, technical certifications relating to position requirements, and proven technical writing skills.
- Minimum of ten years directly related experience in the biomedical field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CACard Willingness.
- Ability to frequently travel.
Language Ability
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Ability
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Teams).
- Applicable client system.

Salary Range
$48.30 - $50.85 per hour. $100,464,00 - $105,768.00 Annualized.
