In this role, you will put your relationship building and analytical skills to the test. You'll interact with providers and report on behalf of the provider database during wider ranging IT projects. You'll be part of a fast-paced, data driven organization where accuracy and performance are highly valued.

The Provider Verification and Outreach Data Specialist is responsible for activities related to verifying our current provider demographic data to ensure the accuracy of our online provider directories that connect members to the right physicians.  This includes placing outbound calls to provider offices, entering demographic changes in multiple applications and ensuring continuity with downstream systems.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Place outreach calls to network provider offices, conducting between 75 to 100 calls per day, to validate UHC’s current Demographic data
  • Complete data updates while on the phone with the provider office, or via spreadsheets of data, or returned Adobe Sign forms
  • Deliver information and questions to providers in a positive manner to facilitate strong relationships with providers and their office staff
  • Complete provider demographic updates accurately in applicable UHC systems that feed to online provider directories, and track inventory. This includes complex data updates for large provider groups (>25 physician offices) verified via Excel Spreadsheets
  • Analyze submitted data to ensure the right business processes have been followed and/or determine appropriate actions or decisions (e.g., change process; modify strategy)
  • Self-manage daily work, conducting follow-up activities, to meet turnaround time requirements
  • Respond to inbound calls from voice mails left, returned Adobe Sign forms and emails from providers with a sense of urgency.
  • Must consistently meet established quality and production metric targets, while working efficiently each day
  • Coordinate with Network Managers to resolve complex provider data issues
  • May assist with compliance and remediation plans based on internal or external audit results
  • May provide buddy/coach assistance to new hires
  • May participate in testing new system enhancements, macros and automation improvements
  • Provide input/suggestions into Processes, system database or design, based on user experience, information, or customer requirements
  • Pull and organize data correctly to answer specific business questions
  • Research multiple databases to pull in the correct or needed information
  • Lead or participate in applicable projects related to design, entry, support of provider data, and/or regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 year or more experience in a healthcare or corporate environment
  • 1 year or more data entry experience
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; Excel & Outlook  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience completing data entry while on the phone with customers
  • Experience working in a metric-driven production environment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Experience using multiple systems or applications such as Inventory Databases, Production Tracking, Phone systems such as Omni Genesys and Qfiniti
  • Experience as a self-starter, managing day/day responsibilities as defined without oversight
  • Previous provider demographic input experience
  • Experience working in a metric-driven production environment

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $16.00 to $26.88. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $16.83 to $29.66.
