How will you power what’s possible?  Location: Huntersville, NC  Shift: 8-5 (Varies with schedule)  Starting Pay Rate: $18.00 Job Description   Part-time student opportunities allow undergraduate and graduate students to schedule their work around their classes.  These roles are available in both the office, customer service centers, and in the production environment.  This program will allow students to gain experience working in a business/manufacturing environment while maintaining their full time academic commitments. This part time work can be done throughout the student’s matriculation at college/university with the options for extended work hours during the summer months.  Student are eligible for part time opportunities after the completion of their freshman year and can work until graduation.  Students must be within a commutable distance of the Southwire location to participate in the Part Time Student Program.   Role Summary Student will lead a pay scale analysis project to ensure the facility is paying a fair and equitable wage to their employees and remaining competitive in the labor market. This will include: employee interviews, job observations, analyzing market data, organizing pay scales   Description of Roles and Responsibilities Build and maintain professional relationships with all Plant staff  Represent Southwire by coordinating hourly recruiting, onboarding and orientation activities  Lead Plant DE&I, Project Gift and overall Employee Engagement Efforts  Process weekly hourly employee payroll and required audits / reports.  Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization without close supervision.  Represent Southwire in a professional, ethical, dependable, credible and honest manner.  Assist with entering updates into HR database.  Resolve administrative problems and inquiries.  Assist with creating / consolidating basic power point presentations.    Develop / document office procedures as needed.  Other administrative tasks as assigned.    Qualifications and Experience Requirements Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university Pursuing a degree in human resources or similar degree path Minimum 2.5 GPA Must have reliable transportation to and from work Benefits We Offer: 401k with Matching& Pension Plan (Eligible for Pension after 1,000 Hours Worked) Medical Insurance Package if Working 30 Hours per Week  Flexible Work Schedule – up to 30 hours per Week Employee Assistance Program  Advancement & Professional Growth opportunities & More  Southwire is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
