Job Summary:

Maintain AOP/Urea/N2O4 Area operations in compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and policies.
Execute continuous improvement of safety within the process area and champion all safety programs.
Oversee employee safety training, plant housekeeping, and ensure adherence to all Corporate EHS policies.
Promote an atmosphere of “Do It Right”.
Develop and demonstrate a high-level knowledge of all aspects of the AOP/Urea Area unit operations and utilize this knowledge to solve operational problems and initiate unit improvements.
Bring problems or potential problems to the attention of the Plant Manager.
Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to reduce or eliminate issues and improve downtime, and product quality.
Promote an atmosphere of continuous learning; ensure operator training and progression programs are functional within the AOP/Urea Area and the principles of operational excellence being attained.
Ensure that the AOP/Urea Area maintains adequate staffing a well-trained team prepared for retirements and attrition.
Participate in the hiring of skilled operators.
Promote an atmosphere of high employee morale and performance.
Develop long and short term plans to achieve AOP/Urea Area, site, and corporate goals and objectives.
Using a continuous improvement philosophy, look for opportunities to improve downtime, quality, costs, productivities, and other efficiencies.
Assist Production Manager in the preparation of the AOP/Urea Area budget, including long term and short term planning.
Assist Production Manager in the preparation of the turnaround and outage plans.
Participate in CF Production Best Practices.
Prepare AOP/Urea Area Monthly Area Operating Report for the Production Manager.
Instill operational discipline and consistency across all crews.

Job Description:

B.S. Chemical Engineering (May substitute degree in Mechanical Engineering if candidate has 10+ years experience in Chemical or Petro-chemical industry)

10+ years experience in operations/manufacturing and supervision of an operating area.

Experience in Nitric Acid and/or Urea Production is preferred.

Knowledge of PSM policy and ability to implement and monitor.

Proficient in Windows environment with Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Required certifications include: hazmat training, emergency response training, first responder training, DOT training

This position requires much flexibility in the daily schedule.  Often unforeseen maintenance or operating issues set the schedule for the day.  This position requires forward planning to anticipate maintenance needs and efficient use of personnel.  There are many hazards associated with the process and, personnel training is of the utmost importance.  Updating operating procedures, improving operating training and certification process is a continuing effort.

Management of upgrade units is key to the efficient operation of the Yazoo City facility.  Since downtime in these units directly impacts other upgrade unit downtime, the area operating units’ plant must be managed in a manner to attain a high on stream factor while maintaining environmental compliance and above all, meet safety goals.

Oversight of approximately 48 employees which include an engineer, operators, supervisors and shift supervisors.
