Job Description

The Resident Engineer - will be responsible for supporting the customer and the overall day to day business relationship. The Resident Engineer will report to the VP of Sales and Sr. Key Account Manager. This is high growth position and looking for someone with 1-3 years of experience in engineering, application engineering, product engineering or similar. This person will have a career track into sales and/or program management if they desire.

Client Details

Our client for the Resident Engineer position is a leading global automotive supplier for electrical and mechanical components. This company is ISO 9001 certified and serves customers all over the world. This Resident Engineer position is a newly created role due to growth.

The Resident Engineer - will be responsible for supporting the customer and the overall day to day business relationship. The Resident Engineer will report to the VP of Sales and Sr. Key Account Manager. This is high growth position and looking for someone with 1-3 years of experience in engineering, application engineering, product engineering or similar. This person will have a career track into sales and/or program management if they desire.

Description

  • Customer facing Product Engineering support.
  • Support Vehicle Integration Meetings.
  • Develop alternate design proposals to drive GM designs toward target pricing.
  • Develop alternate design proposals to enable efficient manufacturing.
  • Support harness validation activities, including development of project specific DVP&R plans.
  • Support both prototype build and production launch build events.
  • Assist Program / Platform teams in defining requirements, design evaluations, and validation
  • Sample Orders, Tracking, and Delivery
  • OEM / WERS / TC Tracking, Release and Management
  • OEM Build Event Knowledge, Timing, Acronyms, deliverables
  • Knowledge of PPAP, MMOG, TSAL, BTAB, SREA, ECN, etc.
  • Ability to perform actions according to OEM processes such as E2, EWO, Covisint, Supply Power, etc.
  • Support or manage weekly PDT, EWO & Open Issues Meetings with Customer
  • Release Drawings, Part Numbers, write Work Orders, manage 5-Phases, Open Issues
  • Employ Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook daily - Must have strong understanding
  • Effectively communicate with all other automotive team members to promote the business needs of the territory to foster growth
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required

Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in an engineering, application engineering, or resident engineering role within Automotive
  • Knowledge of GM or other OEMs such as FCA, Ford, BMW, Audi, Honda, Mazda, VW, etc. preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of vehicle connection systems and architecture
  • Experience or Capabilities in CAD Applications - NX, CATIA, Creo, Team Center, etc.
  • Knowledge of PLEX
  • Knowledge of SharePoint
  • Knowledge of IHS
