Electricial Maintenance Technician
Recruiting Solutions is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician for a privately held family-owned company in the Cowpens, SC area. This is a direct-hire position with competitive pay and benefits. The position offers a range of benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401k. This is a day shift position. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience working as an electrician and 2 years of experience in maintenance. Working knowledge of injection molding processes is a plus!
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury.
- Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are always followed.
- Ensures that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
- Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing/walking for the duration of the shift.
- Develop, implement, and support Continuous Improvements Programs.
- Initiates corrective action for non-conformances.
- Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system.
- Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required.
- Able to work unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Duties as assigned per Operations Manager.
Electrical Functions
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electrical systems and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams to install and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
- Install and maintain electrical control systems for industrial machinery and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as engineers, mechanics, and technicians, to complete projects and repairs.
- Maintain inventory of electrical equipment and supplies.
Maintenance Functions
- Key role in improvement projects which address efficiency improvements, safety improvements, equipment longevity, and downtime reduction.
- Performing preventative maintenance and necessary repairs on all of the following: injection molding machines, mold interfaces, secondary production and support equipment, packaging equipment, and plant utility infrastructure.
- Complete work orders through MVP when not working on urgent repairs.
- Completes machine PMs and repairs.
- Work on Continuous improvement projects assigned by Maintenance Manager.
- Enter appropriate information in OPS Tracker and MVP daily.
- Respond to any emergency or potential emergency.
- Support tooling department as needed.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with electrical systems, wiring, and equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to electrical work.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Experience working in industrial settings such as factories, plants, or warehouses.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and control systems is a plus.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Willingness to keep up with industry developments and advancements.
Experience
- 2-3 years’ experience working as an electrician.
- 2+ years’ experience in several of the following areas: interpreting electrical schematics, diagnose and repair equipment electronics, PLC ladder logic, maintenance, and repair of facility equipment.
- Working knowledge of injection molding processing preferred.
- ISO or similar quality system and SQF or similar food safety system preferred.
Education
Journeyman or Master Electrician certification or Mechanical/Electrical Contractor License preferred.
