Job Description Summary: Assist with teaching in the Continuing Education EMS program. Courses may include the EMT Basic and Intermediate classes, Medical Responder class, and a number of other trauma and/or medical continuing education classes.
Duties: Duties will include the setup and breakdown of classrooms, proper use of equipment, current knowledge of EMS standards. Also will need to know how to manage college paperwork and schedules. Classes may be located on campus or out in the community.
- A minimum of 3 years of the following: EMS field experience, medical field acute settings experience, or mental health counseling in a public health facility.
- Currently certified in at least one of the following: NCOEMS EMT or above, MD, RN, Respiratory Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
- A willingness to obtain the NCOEMS Level I or II Instructor Certification. (Does not apply to specialty fields.)
- Comfortable in a college-level environment working with a wide range of people and experiences.
Preferred Qualifications: Level 1 or 2 NC EMS Instructor. Experience as an instructor through EMS, AHA, or ARC. Associates Degree or higher.
