Primary Purpose of Position:
The Assistant Branch Manager supports and assists the Branch Manager in planning, organizing, and managing all aspects of the branch operations. Responsible for coaching and mentoring staff to achieve branch goals related to member service, production sales, and building strong member relationships. Creates a positive team environment by modeling and coaching the WWE (Westerra Way Experience).
Works with Branch Manager to develop and execute strategies and tactics to achieve sales, service, and operational branch goals.
Conduct staff huddles, meetings, and training sessions as needed.
Assists the Branch Manager with recruiting, hiring, and staff performance issues.
Coach, develop, and train branch staff to promote and deliver credit union products and services to members and how to identify cross sell opportunities.
Assist with the branch audit functions, compliance requirements, security protocols, and cash management to ensure operational efficiency. Recommend and implement improvements as appropriate.
Assists in problem resolution for escalated member situations by answering questions, collecting data, and providing solutions.
Perform member transactions, open new accounts and loans when appropriate.
Maintains thorough knowledge of policies and procedures, lending processes, products and services, and the functions of all automated equipment. Serves as a branch-wide source of knowledge on credit union operating procedures in order to provide necessary support to branch staff.
Assist with branch scheduling and management of time cards.
Acts as backup and provides support to the Branch Manager.
Adhere to all Westerra policies and procedures and Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.

This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z. You will be subject to the required registration process, which includes a criminal background and credit check. This registration process takes place post-employment. Failure to meet or maintain any of the NMLS registration requirements, including maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit report, may result in a rescission of your offer or termination of employment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 1 year sales and customer service preferably in financial services
2 years teller/operations experience preferred
1 year Supervisory experience preferred
1 year consumer lending experience preferred
High School Diploma or GED is required
Strong operational skills
Sales and Service Focused
Coaching and training abilities
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
