Description
JOB SUMMARY: The Major Gift Officer plays a vital role in securing financial support for Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton, ensuring its ongoing operation for years to come
By fostering lasting relationships with both individuals and corporations, cultivating a sustainable revenue stream critical for the organization's continued success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work with the Director of Development & Marketing on fundraising strategies.
- Design and implement short- and long-term engagement plans geared toward securing major gifts.
- Develop and maintain a personal portfolio of 25+ major donors and prospects with capacity to make gifts of $10,000+ to achieve increased engagement and revenue.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of 15+ corporate and foundation partnerships to drive increased engagement and revenue.
- Conduct donor and prospect research to identify opportunities.
- Ensures excellent stewardship of donors through one-on-one meetings, personal contact, written correspondence, recognition, and support in collaboration with the Director of Development & Marketing.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development & Marketing to grow estate planning program.
- Assist with grant research as needed.
- Work in eTapestry to generate reports.
- Liaison to a County Board.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of current and evolving trends in philanthropy.
- Ability to cultivate, nurture, and maintain robust relationships with positive relationships with donors, community leaders, volunteers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Well organized, self-starter, and team oriented.
- Travel within the four-county area as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of five years of fundraising/development experience, ideally in the non-profit sector.
- Donor Management Software experience preferred, specifically eTapestry.
- Possess computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
