Registered Nurse RN - FT Days with Call - OR
The Registered Nurse provides and directs clinically appropriate patient care to an individual or group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and mission of the Department of Nursing, the organization, and the scope and standards set forth by the American Nurses Association (ANA).
In the execution of job duties, it is the universal expectation that all tasks are performed with a patient centered focus, while also seeking opportunities to continually improve core processes. Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include but is not limited to: holidays, extended shifts, night and/or weekend shifts, standby and/or on-call. Essential Functions
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Patient/family care needs and/or problems are promptly identified and addressed. Patients are regularly assessed and reassessed. Patient responses to nursing and MD interventions and treatments are evaluated and documented in the ongoing assessment data.
Functions successfully in all emergency situations. Adapts to change and handles emergencies consistent with policy and in a manner that instills confidence in others through a smooth operation.
Establishes individualized nursing diagnoses based on assessment data and formulates
care plan.
Collaborates with patient and family members to address care needs and provide
patient centered care.
Adjusts plan of care appropriately. Knowledgeable and incorporates
best practices.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
□ Bachelor’s degree X Preferred □ Required
BSN required within 3 years of hire - effective 1/1/21

Certifications:
X Basic Life Support (BLS)
□ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required for ED, all inpatient units, OPSP, IR, PACU, Cardiac Cath Lab. (New grads have 6 months to obtain)
□ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required for ED, PACU, 3S Pediatric Designated Staff (New Graduates have 6 months to obtain).
□ Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): ICN , L&D & postpartum staff (New Graduates have 6 months to obtain).
□ Electronic Fetal Monitoring- L& D staff (New Graduates have 6 months to obtain)
□ Telemetry Certification or Competency for Med-Surg/PCU, ICU, IR, Cath Lab, PACU and ED staff.
Minimum Work Experience
Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, except for specialized new graduate program(s).
Cardiac Cath Lab: Six months experience working in a cardiac cath lab.
Preferred: 2 years of nursing experience
Required for PACU: 2 years of nursing experience. Preferred for PACU: ICU, ED, and/or PACU experience
Required for Float Pool: 2 years of critical care experience (ED or ICU)
Preferred for Pre-Op RN: 2+ years medical-surgical or surgical services experience.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
