Process Engineer (Precision Machining & Assembly)

JOB SUMMARY

Prince Industries in Carol Stream, IL is currently seeking a Process Engineer. The Process Engineer applies basic knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, engineering drawings, material properties, machining and assembly procedures, secondary processes such as heat treating, plating to create productions drawing & method of manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create production drawings & method of manufacture (BOM, traveler)
  • Process PCN & ECN
  • Lead APQP process
  • Create fixture & special tool drawings
  • Interact daily with Sales, Production, & Quality personnel
  • Create production process estimates

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: AAS in Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering*
  • Proficiency in CAD (Solidworks)
  • Computer literate (MS Office, Adobe, email)
  • Knowledge of CAM (Partmaker/Edgecam) & CNC programing helpful but not required
  • Good math skills with emphasis on shop math
  • Good blue print reading (understanding of tolerances, surface finishes, basic GD&T)
  • Some experience with MRP software preferred
  • Familiarity with materials (machinability)
  • Familiarity with various plating & heat treating processes
  • CNC machining experience preferred but not required
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Independent & willing to take initiative
  • Attention to details & well organized
  • Multitasking skills & ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong work ethic & highly motivated
  • Must follow all safety rules
  • 1-2 years of experience in precision machining preferred but not required
  • Will consider candidates currently working towards engineering degree (AAS, BA)
  • CNC machinist considering work in engineering field are encouraged to apply
