Senior Paralegal RemoteContract Duration 4 MonthsPay rate up to $43/hrPosition Summary:The Senior Paralegal provides legal support to litigation and employment law case teams, along with regulatory filings and contract management.Research, compose, edit, and proofread pleadings, testimonies, memoranda, correspondence, reports, and various other documents for attorneys, federal, state, and local courts.Record and monitor the docket schedule of court appearance dates, pleadings, cases, and postponements for attorneys.Prepare witnesses and assemble case materials, exhibits, and documents for meetings, hearings, and court appearances.Collaborate with attorneys, client groups, and other support staff to address and resolve various legal matters and compliance issues.Compose non-disclosure agreements regarding the policies, procedures, and practices.Job Responsibilities:Case Management:Senior Paralegal provides management and support of projects and cases related to employment law, electric, gas, civil, and other types of proceedings involving Superior, Appellate, and Small Claims Courts under the supervision of an attorneyReview for issues and facts from depositions and other case-related documents; categorize documents based on criteria from an attorneyOrganize, and prepare case documents and/or reports such as tables of authority, tables of contents, miscellaneous correspondence, reports for filing with regulatory agencies, standard pleadings, requests for production of documents, interrogatories, standard motions, requests for admissions, hearing summaries, declarations, a chronology of events, trial exhibits and oversee the indexing and/or bates labelingMonitor docket activity, production schedules for hearings, and discovery responses to help meet all deadlines assigned by attorneysLegal and Factual Research:Proficient with Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, Law Library, and regulatory agency websites to conduct researchResearch factual and legal issues, perform cite checking, editing, proofreading, and general quality control to ensure compliance with court and/or regulatory agency rules and regulationsOther:Develop recommendations to continuously improve case management, administration, and supportProactively communicate the status of cases with attorneysWork closely with Discovery Team on all discovery-related issues, including identification and review of custodians, documents, and dataAssist with other special projects as assignedTop Things:Experience inLitigation work extensiveRegulatory work,Contract review work andLaw firm experience.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience5 years of paralegal work experienceMaster's proficiency in law department software and technologyDesired Qualifications:Paralegal Certificate7+ years of paralegal work experience10 years of Legal Assistant experienceAbility to provide direction to others and assign tasks to clerical staffExceptional verbal and written communication skillsExcellent client/customer focusTakes initiative and works independentlyAbility to build consensus and contribute in a team environmentStrong time management skillsProficiency with Symantec Clearwell and kCura RelativityNote:Local candidates only, currently residing in the Bay area/Work locationRemote, No onsite workEquipment provided by the client: LAPTOPEquipment that the worker may need: Monitor.About The Company:Our client, incorporated in 1905, is one of the largest combined natural gas and electric energy companies in the United States.
