HS Boys Basketball Assistant Coach (Part-time)
Job Posting - Assistant Coach: High School Boys’ Basketball
Classification: Support Staff - Part-time Grade Level – High School
Summary/Objective:
A high school coach's primary job is two-fold: to improve the performance of high school athletes by motivating and instructing and to build character. Coaches should be well educated in the sport they teach, and they should be able to communicate their ideas to their athletes in an easily understandable way. High school athletic coaches instruct and work with athletes to prepare them for competition while also teaching and demonstrating the act of sportsmanship. Coaches help athletes to play their best individually and as a team. They are experts on the rules, strategies, and techniques of their sports. Coaches must also know about related sports equipment, physical fitness, and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coach will oversee all team responsibilities
- Assist head coach with duties between JV and Varsity
Qualifications:
Required:
- Clear background check
- Completion of NFHS concussion training (upon hire)
- Completion of Mandatory Reporter training (district required upon hire)
- Successful completion of the annual CHSAA bylaws examination (upon hire)
- Successful completion of the First Year CHSAA Coach’s Exam (upon hire if not previously tested)
Preferred:
Start Date: At Once
Schedule:
Practice Begins: Mid November
Regular Season: December-late February
Postseason: Late February-mid March
Summer workouts, open practice and team camps take place throughout the year
Work Schedule: Dependent on practice and games
