VP of Corporate Development

The Vice President of Corporate Development reports to the President and is a member of the Executive Team responsible for the creation and deployment of 3-5-year strategic growth opportunities. This position manages the proposal development team and addresses all phases of the strategic growth planning process, including initial lead and opportunity management, market/competitive customer intelligence, business systems intelligence, and proposal management. Must take an active role in marketing COMPANY capabilities to federal agencies.


  • Ability/enjoyment of a longer business development process and sale cycle.
  • Strong ability to develop relationships with potential clients over a period of time.
  • Ability and desire to make cold calls, reach out to target clients, and attend networking events.
  • Enjoys an entrepreneurial, fast paced environment with ability to deal with the most senior executives.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong leadership and problem solving skills.
  • Highest level of ethics, honesty, and integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks on time and in an organized manner.


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant business, technical, or professional field of study
  • Prior exposure/interaction with federal financial services industry strongly preferred not required.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in growth related activities that include strategic planning, business development, capture, and proposal development. Proven track record of success in capturing and winning new business. Familiar with best practices in these named areas.
  • Proven ability to perform customer engagement, capture, and proposal preparation for large proposals.
  • Experience as a mentor or coach working directly with line, capture, and proposal staff on large opportunities, with preference for significant experience as a proposal writing instructor or coach.
  • Experience with Joint Ventures.
  • Ability to travel throughout the US and internationally

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred: MBA, or relevant Master's Degree
  • Familiarity with small business set asides
  • Prior experience as a senior Growth Executive in a graduated 8a firm
  • Experience with a populated joint venture or a joint venture established under the Small Business Administration (SBA) All Small Mentor Protégé Program.
