Koniag IT Systems is seeking a Technical Information Specialist to join our client's records and document management team.
This role involves working with scientific regulatory documents, maintaining document tracking databases, and supporting digital imaging and micrographics operations.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: The Technical Information Specialist will be responsible for accurately reading, classifying, and processing scientific regulatory documents.
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
• Read and classify scientific regulatory documents according to established procedures
• Maintain document tracking databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date record-keeping
• Support digital imaging and micrographics operations, including scanning and indexing documents
• Perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Provide excellent customer service and effectively communicate with stakeholders
• Utilize computer applications, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite Requirements Education: • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree with coursework in science or records/information management is desirable but not required Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an office environment with a records management background
• Experience with reading and classifying scientific regulatory documents
• Ability to read and accurately classify scientific regulatory documents
• Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite
• Experience with document tracking databases, digital imaging, and micrographics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service orientation
• Organizational and time management skills
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Desired Skills and Competencies:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., science, information management)
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards
• Familiarity with electronic document management systems (EDMS)
• Experience in a regulated industry or government environment
• Certifications in records management or related fields (e.g., CRM, IGP) Working Environment & Conditions This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate.
The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time.
The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
