Senior Injection Molding Process Engineer
Job Description
Evaluate new and existing parts/tooling to improve optical quality. Manage process techs and provide maintenance with guidance for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Watch company capabilities video to see the various manufacturing processes
- Evaluate molding machine performance: to include end of arm tool design and reliability, recommend replacing check rings, screws, and barrels if needed. Replace heater bands and thermocouples as needed. Maintenance will perform the work as needed.
- Interface with manufacturing engineer to learn and help with other manufacturing processes.
- Train process techs on new equipment.
- Knowledge of various optical materials like Acrylic, Polycarbonate, and Nylon, not to exclude non-optical materials ABS, PC/ABS, Polycarbonate, and Nylon.
- Knowledge of robots; we use Sailor and Star, which would be helpful.
- Knowledge of Nissei Molding machines would be ideal.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Programs would be helpful.
