We are looking for several key individuals with backgrounds in Industrial automation projects; who are commercially astute, and comfortable dealing at all levelswithin a client organization. As an Automation Programmer based out of our Houston, Buffalo or Baton Rouge office, you will be responsible for the design, development and execution of automation programming activities in industrial and municipal facilities projects. This role will also be accountable for the successful development and execution of automation projects. This is an opportunity to leverage your local knowledge and be involved in challenging projects that will offer an opportunity to provide technical solutions as a subject matter expert.  We service a variety of clients in the municipal, industrial, chemicals, and pipeline storage facilities, as well as other industries outside of the plant engineering business sector.  

Responsibilities will include:

- Project management and scope development
- Cost estimation and proposal development
- Software design of automation and control systems consisting of Programmable Logic Controllers, Human-Machine Interfaces, andSCADA systems
- Understand municipal and industrial facilities processes and design software for these systems in accordance to Industry standards
- Communicating with external and internal stakeholders as needed
- Develop technical documentation with specifications and control narratives
- Specify, design, author, and integrate automation and process control software
- Coordination and assistance with system simulation, field checkout & startup
- Specify communications system hardware, cabling, and devices  

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

- B.S. degree in Electrical, Computer, or Automation Engineering or a related engineering discipline - Minimum 5 -10 years of experience with industrial automation projects with a preferred 5 years of Chemical, Oil & Gas experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus - Proficiency in Industrial Communications, Control Panel Design and PLC/HMI/SCADA software systems design experience andproficiency in modern Allen-Bradley/Modicon automation platforms are a plus
- Proficiency with field process equipment and process measurement instrumentation
- Experience with the development and understanding of High Performance HMI graphics (ISA 101)
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, technical and field personnel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Demonstrate ability to perform strong time management skills
- Ability to interact with customers and clients in a positive and professional manner
