This Staff Accountant position is for candidates who can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Your responsibilities

- Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

- Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

- In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

- Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation

- Partake in various department-wide initiatives

- Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

- Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

- Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

- Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

- Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions

- Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- Efficient in ERP systems

- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

- 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

- Previous experience working with Microsoft Office Suites

- Balance Sheet Account experience

- JD Edwards EnterpriseOne experience preferred

- Well-founded grasp of US GAAP

- Earlier work involving Year-end Financial Statements

- General familiarity with financial analysis

- Quality experience with Monthly Bank Reconciliation

- Good understanding of auditing

- Accounting Entries experience desired

- Monthly Reconciliation experience preferred

- Proven knowledge of Month-end Close Activities

- Wide ranging experience with Expense Analysis

- Practical knowledge of Accrual Entries

- Skills in Communication Skills

- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
